Enjoying my balcony view of the Ozarks from the ma Enjoying my balcony view of the Ozarks from the magnificent Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas which dates back to 1886. It has a fascinating history, complete with its own morgue, bowling alley and a variety of ghosts.

Learned a lot of history today with a visit to For Learned a lot of history today with a visit to Fort Smith National Historic Site. Fascinating place, fascinating stories in the northwest of Arkansas, across the river from Oklahoma.
Got a sneak peek of the U.S. Marshals Museum that’s set to open  in Fort Smith, Arkansas on July 1. It’s going to be impressive and I’m glad to see that it won’t gloss over some of their darker history like their interactions with Native Americans during the future days out even more modern incidents with anti-government groups.
Park Ranger Randy Dotson tells visitors the incred Park Ranger Randy Dotson tells visitors the incredible story of the Little Rock 9 at Little Rock Central High School and the long battle to racially integrate the school. It’s an uncomfortable story, but Dotson tells it in a powerful way, designed to evoke empathy for these students no matter the colour of your skin. Definitely a highlight for any visitor to the city.
Stepped into the Oval Office in the White House to Stepped into the Oval Office in the White House today. Actually, it’s a reproduction in the Bill Clinton presidential library in Little Rock. It’s accurate to the millimeter and the drapes and upholstery and other elements are original from Clinton’s time in office. It’s a fascinating place to visit if you’re into politics and recent history. Kind of wish we could spend more time there.
