I spent a little less than 48 hours in Chicago recently to watch a Blackhawks game at the United Center. It was my third visit and it’s still my favourite American city. Here are a few photos from my whirlwind visit:

Enjoying a feast at WeDesi, a delightful Indian ve Enjoying a feast at WeDesi, a delightful Indian vegetarian restaurant around the corner from us.
We got together for games night and tried TripChas We got together for games night and tried TripChaser, a travel-themed card game made by a Canadian couple during the pandemic whose PR firm sent me a review copy. It’s light, but fun. The artwork is especially nice and everyone at the table gave it a thumbs up. I, of course, came in last.
We also played a few rounds of the perennially popular Galaxy Trucker. I didn’t fare much better a my ship was ultimately destroyed by a meteor storm. ☹️
For Remembrance Day, I'm sharing a digital poppy h For Remembrance Day, I'm sharing a digital poppy honouring Private Patrick Hanley, one of my maternal grandmother's brothers. He served in Europe during the Second World War with the Black Watch then in Korea with the Royal Canadian Army's Special Force. Everyone knew him by the nickname 'Mosco' because by the end of the Korean War he had become such an anti-communist that he was always railing against Moscow! He survived both wars and is today buried in Pointe Claire cemetery's Field of Honour.

Last night was the first clear night in some time Last night was the first clear night in some time so I took advantage of it to try to photograph the Pleiades, aka The Seven Sisters, in Taurus.  My field of view isn't large enough to capture all seven stars, but these four show signs of the nebulosity that I was hoping to capture.  The stars are perhaps too bloated and still not sharp enough, but it's not the worst astrophoto I've taken.
