Between 50,000 and 100,000 people live in 198 enclaves along the Bangladesh–India border. These enclaves, known as chitmahals, are bits of Indian territory in Bangladesh and bits of Bangladeshi territory within India. To complicate matters, there are enclaves within enclaves.
In one case, an enclave called Dahala Khagrabari #51 is a piece of India within Bangladesh, within India, within Bangladesh.
